CELC is a non-religious outreach ministry of Richfield Lutheran Church, founded in 1975. We welcome families of all cultural and religious backgrounds. We provide early learning and child care services for children from 6 weeks to 10 years.
We are blessed with a wonderfully diverse group of students, families, and teachers. As an ELCA Lutheran Church, we strive to be God's hands in the world, and to create a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment for our children to learn and grow, and for our staff to be respected and appreciated. This is one of the many ways we serve our community.
Serving our community well was never easy, but COVID, inflation and a competitive labor market certainly did not make it any easier. We constantly have to balance affordable tuition rates with competitive pay for our teachers, and a high quality child care program in a properly equipped building. Talk about a three way split!
We are currently expanding CELC from 7 to 11 rooms, with a focus on our youngest children. Construction, while ever increasing in cost, is (hopefully!) covered by our business plan and financing, but furniture and materials for our new rooms are not!
We are reaching out to our community to help us with cubbies, cots, shelving, toys, games, as well as white boards and blinds to finish our beautiful new rooms, and make all our children feel welcome, keep them engaged and help them to learn and grow! We are also planning a new, large staff lounge with a kitchenette and computer stations. Please consider a contribution to help us serve our children, staff and community better. Any amount is welcome, and all gifts are greatly appreciated! Thank you!
