Rescue Now Services' mission is to address the immediate needs of community members experiencing food insecurity and homelessness. Since 2004, we have been serving our neighbors with practical support, warm meals, and a pathway toward stability.

A Foundation Built on Community Meals. Our work began in 2004 with The Lord’s Kitchen, a weekly community dinner that offered hot meals and a connection to anyone who walked through the door. The program continued until 2020, when COVID-19 restrictions made it impossible to safely gather. The Lord’s Kitchen shaped the heart of our organization and laid the foundation for the food support we provide today.

Good Works Food Shelf started in 2010. Good Works Food Shelf provides weekly, dignity-centered food support for families across Minnesota. We offer culturally appropriate groceries, fresh produce, pantry staples, and seasonal programs such as our annual Thanksgiving distribution. Families rely on us each week, especially when rising costs, employment shifts, or government interruptions make it harder to keep food on the table.

Rescue Now Shelter, opened in 2019, provides 50 beds for unsheltered community members seeking a safe place to rest. We are a person-centered, evening and overnight emergency shelter that provides warm meals, basic needs, and a calm, supportive environment. Guests often tell us they feel safe and respected, which is central to how we operate. As we transition into a year-round model, community support helps us continue offering consistent, reliable shelter for neighbors who have nowhere else to go during critical hours of the night.

Housing and Rapid Rehousing Program launched in 2024, our Rapid Rehousing program helps single adults move from homelessness into stable housing. We assist with housing navigation, rental support, and legal services to help participants overcome barriers to securing a lease. Our team stays connected as individuals work toward long-term stability.

Across all programs, Rescue Now remains committed to compassion, cultural understanding, and accessible support. We are a small but dedicated team supported by volunteers, partners, and community members who believe everyone deserves safety, food, and a place to call home.
