Relate Counseling Center has been providing community mental health care for 54 years. While serving all ages, our target population is youth in Western Hennepin County, particularly those in the 53 schools where we provide onsite care. Many students using our school-based services come from families unable to afford care. We offer a sliding fee scale to eliminate financial barriers and also provide uncompensated student support (parent consultations, training, etc.).
Mental Health in Young People
The mental health challenges faced by students are increasing at an alarming rate. Many young people express feelings of disinterest and lack of pleasure in their daily activities. Recognizing the vital role that schools play in providing support, Relate focuses on delivering accessible, school-based mental health services. Intervention is critical before symptoms get worse and harder to treat.
Positive Outcomes
With increasing pressures and challenges facing our youth, providing support and resources to navigate their emotions and mental well-being effectively is more crucial than ever. When mental health is addressed and supported, individuals are more likely to build resilience, succeed in their education, and maintain strong relationships. By receiving timely care, young people can develop essential coping skills, empowering them to overcome challenges and lead fulfilling lives.
You can help!
With funds like those from Give to the Max Day, we are able to serve the under and uninsured school children who have come to rely on our services. Our goal for this Give to the Max Day is to raise $2,500 to help offset high deductibles, copays, and gaps in insurance coverage, ensuring that all students can receive the mental health support they need.
Together, we can put the pieces together for accessible youth mental health care. Make a life-changing donation today!
