Mississippi National-A Community Place for All
After the 2012 golf season Mississippi National was thought to be closed for the foreseeable future because there wasn't a management group to run the facility for the City of Red Wing. Thus, the Red Wing Municipal Golf Corporation was formed by a group of Mississippi National’s most passionate forward thinking members; each of whom recognized the value that Mississippi National’s presence in the community of Red Wing. A volunteer board was thoughtfully constructed and fundraising began. The course remained shuttered during 2013. After raising enough funds and gathering the support of the community RWMGC presented a plan to Red Wing City Council to manage the golf facility. A deal was struck and the right to reopen this gem of a facility with the support of Red Wing City Council and the citizens of Red Wing was granted. Since reopening in 2014 our facility has become an open space for all of Red Wing and surrounding areas. Mississippi National continues to grow and evolve; it is now the home to both Red Wing High School Golf Teams and hosts over 20 community events every year. The come back of MNGL has been a great success but we are in need of some funding for upkeep and course improvement including new tee boxes for women, bunker repair and cart path improvements. We thank you for all your support and donations!
