Give the gift of independence!

All donations will go to providing much needed support for Semi-Independent Living Services (SILS) to help people with developmental disabilities achieve the highest level of self-reliance within their community as possible. Our Community Living Specialists work with individuals and their families to provide support for each person’s specific needs and goals. Through SILS, we help adults with a wide range of services including: preparing meals, employment skills, budgeting, bill paying, daily living skills, health/hygiene, safety, self-advocacy, grocery shopping, obtain/maintain housing and socialization.

This November, please help us provide the gift of independence to people with developmental disabilities in Minnesota!

Your donation makes an impact
Hanna is an organized, intelligent and ambitious young adult who sings in a glee club, volunteers at the library, attends dance class, interns in the neonatal intensive care unit at Children’s MN and enjoys hanging out with her friends. However, when it comes to cooking and cleaning tasks, Hanna needs some guidance.

With the help of donor funded assistive technology that provides step-by-step directions with pictures on completing household tasks and a Community Living Specialist from Reach, Hanna is able to live more independently.

Business cards. That’s what Jim Anderson collects. Jim is someone Reach supports, and he is the proud owner of hundreds—if not thousands—of business cards. With the guidance of Jesse, one of our Community Living Specialists, Jim has additional comfort in living independently and going out and about in the community, where he not only works and takes part in various activities, but also graciously solicits business cards. Currently, Jim is working on three goals: tackling laundry independently, improving his cooking skills and helping with yard chores.

Thanks to generous donors, Jim is able to participate in critical Semi-Independent Living Services so he can achieve his goal of being as independent as possible.
