Recovery Cafe San Jose

Recovery Café San Jose (RCSJ) is a healing community for those traumatized by addiction, homelessness, and mental health challenges.

In this refuge refuge from the streets, members gather for group meals, participate in Recovery Circles, take classes to learn job and life skills, make connections to other community resources, and enjoy social activities in a sober and supportive environment.

Meaningful daily activities and a positive community are powerful forces that help break the patterns and challenges of addiction, unemployment, mental health challenges, and homelessness.

Café Membership Benefits:

~ Hot meals five days each week
~ Weekly Recovery Circles (small groups, peer support)
~ Classes to learn job and life skills
~ Group activities to build social skills and inner strength
~ Connections to resources and partner agencies (housing, jobs, health)
~ Relapse prevention & breaking free from addiction

Membership is free and open to all. The requirements to maintain one's status are:

~ Have 24 hours without drugs or alcohol before entering the Café
~ Attend your Recovery Circle each week
~ Give back through Café chores (cleaning, serving meals, etc.) 

Most important, membership in the Café works:

~ 81.3% of members agree that participation in RCSJ has helped them develop relapse prevention skills.
~ 86.1% report that RCSJ has been an important source of nourishment and food for them.
~ 86.1% say that coming to the Cafe helped them to feel less alone.
