Stable mental health is the spring board from which all can be possible. 

Queer LifeSpace covers the breadth and depth of the needs of the San Francisco LGBTQQI community, from couple’s counseling to treating people with triple diagnosis. Queer LifeSpace aims to bridge the gap in affordable, safe and culturally relevant mental health care to serve the unique needs of many LGBTQQI people, especially those who have been historically marginalized and thus are at greater risk.

The LGBTQQI community suffers higher rates of suicidality, trauma, depression, anxiety and a host of other increased risks because of repeated exposure to unpredictable and episodic psychosocial stressors stemming from anti-LGBTQQI attitudes and offenses ranging from mild to violent. Queer LifeSpace provides culturally competent services for all the intersections of identity and needs that its clients have.

Queer LifeSpace provides the only intersex support group in the Bay Area, and provides specific outreach and support for queer people of color, as well as transgender and gender-variant people, people with disabilities, trauma survivors and more. 

We here at Queer LifeSpace firmly believe that a queer community that invests in their mental health is a queer community that thrives. This belief has fueled our dedication to providing effective, affordable mental health and substance abuse services to as much of our community as we possibly can.

Queer LifeSpace is almost entirely operated by a network of over 60 volunteers, including staff, interns, trainees, supervisors and board members.

Queer LifeSpace had its 400th client intake since opening it's doors in 2011

Queer LifeSpace offers an LGBTQQI focused clinical training program to help prepare the next generation of queer therapists in how to work with our client’s very specific needs in the Bay Area and beyond.
