At Project Safety Nets, our mission is singular but deeply resonant: to enrich and uplift lives across the globe. As a committed non-profit, we concentrate on fortifying individuals in developing communities, particularly in West Africa. We operate under our "Three Pillars" guiding principles: Education, Health, and Economic Development. Alongside this, we've expanded our outreach to include a pivotal focus on Mental Health training. In doing so, we assist communities in need and provide a fulfilling and transformative experience for our volunteers and those we serve. Together, we address life's complexities, creating lasting relationships and facilitating genuine cultural understanding, while creating sustainability.

For more than 15 years, we have been effecting meaningful change, focusing on Senegal, among other West African nations. Here's a glimpse into the diverse and impactful projects we've undertaken:

  1. Women's Economic Empowerment: We have facilitated micro-loans for over 450 women, enabling them to initiate businesses and achieve sustainable livelihoods.
  2. Aiding the Marginalized: We have extended our reach to include individuals with leprosy and other disabilities, offering them micro-loans to establish businesses and regain social standing.
  3. Health Initiatives: Our commitment to combating health issues is evident in our distribution of over 29,000 pretreated mosquito nets to thwart the spread of malaria.
  4. Visual Aid: We have collected and distributed upwards of 12,000 pairs of used eyeglasses, providing the immeasurable gift of sight to those without the means to afford it.
  5. Educational Support for Girls: By supplying hygiene kits, we've allowed hundreds of girls to manage their menstrual cycles and continue their education without disruption.
  6. Mental Health Training in West Africa: In a pioneering venture, we have partnered with local organizations to offer comprehensive mental health training sessions. This initiative aims to build community resilience, equip local healthcare providers, and foster a culture of mental well-being.

Our team members contribute to these endeavors out of their own pockets, pouring both their hearts and resources into these initiatives. As we look toward the future, your continued support will drive our ever-expanding impact. Thank you for walking this extraordinary path with us.
