Your Generosity in Action: 18 Years of Impact

For 18 years, Project Safety Nets has partnered with communities in Senegal, The Gambia, Ghana, and Togo to create meaningful and lasting change.

Here is what your support helps make possible:

1. Empowering Women, Strengthening Families

We have supported more than 3,500 women through microloans, entrepreneurship training, and economic empowerment initiatives, helping women establish businesses, provide for their families, and build sustainable livelihoods.

2. Restoring Dignity and Opportunity

Through our outreach to individuals affected by leprosy, disabilities, and social marginalization, we provide opportunities for economic independence, improved sanitation, and community inclusion. Our Sanitation with Dignity initiative has helped restore privacy and dignity to vulnerable individuals and families.

3. Protecting Families from Malaria

Since 2008, we have distributed more than 35,000 insecticide-treated mosquito nets, helping protect children, pregnant women, and families from malaria.

4. Giving the Gift of Sight

Through the collection and distribution of more than 15,000 pairs of eyeglasses and our Sight for Senegal initiatives, we have helped individuals access vision care and resources that improve their quality of life. We have hosted ten eye clinics in Senegal and The Gambia, allowing patients to receive personalized prescription glasses. 

5. Keeping Children in School

From supporting school lunch programs and improving classrooms to providing menstrual hygiene kits for girls, we are removing barriers to education. Our partnerships with schools in Senegal help hundreds of children receive nourishment, educational resources, and opportunities to thrive.

6. Advancing Mental Health and Trauma Healing

Recognizing that emotional wellness is essential to healthy communities, we have expanded our mental health initiatives through trauma-informed education, Brainspotting training, and community mental health conferences. Our growing work seeks to equip African mental health professionals and community leaders with culturally responsive tools to support healing and resilience.

7. Investing in Mothers, Children, and Communities

Through maternity ward improvements, clean water initiatives, sanitation projects, and support for vulnerable children, we are helping communities build healthier and more sustainable futures.
