ProAct, Inc.

A nonprofit organization

ProAct has provided a broad range of programming options for individuals with disabilities for over 50 years!  From job placement and employment support services to enrichment programming provided in-center, in the community, or virtually, ProAct focuses on enhancing lives and building self-sufficiency. ProAct provides services in Eagan, Red Wing, Shakopee and Hudson, WI.

To ensure all participants have access to enriching and life-enhancing programming that fits their needs and desires, ProAct is placing its 2025 GIVE MN focus on acquiring new equipment like a Hoyer Lift to improve accessibility at our upcoming new Shakopee location, an Owl for administrative support and video conferencing, along with other tools and resources to be used for improving the lives of our participants and staff.

ProAct's current Shakopee location is leased in coordination with the Southwest Metro Special School District and Scott County. The School District's expansion and growing needs now requires our current site's space. In response to this need, ProAct took the initiative to identify and acquire a new location for our programming in service of adults with disabilities.

With your help, we are one step closer towards the future home for ProAct Shakopee opening its doors in early 2026.

This future home of ProAct Shakopee requires maintenance and updating as well as new equipment like the Hoyer Lift to ensure all our participants are given the opportunity to thrive. The greater Shakopee community is home to many of ProAct's friends and family.

Here's what ProAct's President & CEO Judie Foster-Lupkin had to say about the Hoyer lift and Owl and why these items will be of immense help in the day to day work of supporting individuals with disabilities:

"The Hoyer lift will allow our staff to better serve the needs of our participants that require lifting due to their disability.  This will be an asset to our organization and to those we serve."

"Having the option of video conferencing with participants, annual meetings, connecting with team members and staff from other locations or even conducting the monthly board meetings is so valuable to our organization.  That is the one good thing from COVID that we have continued to use, and it has become part of our everyday life.  The Owl is able to move the camera to those who are speaking so that they can be seen to all in the meeting rather than a stationary camera – it’s a HOOT!"

Our goal is to raise $5,200 for Give to the Max Day, and your donation will aid individuals with disabilities with acquiring employment and living independent lives.

Thank you in advance for your gift and for your support of Minnesotans with disabilities!

Warmly,

The ProAct Team
