Our Mission

The Minnesota Financial Empowerment Initiative (MNFEI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing financial literacy for under-resourced adults across Minnesota. We serve as a compassionate ally, helping individuals build confidence, security, and a path toward a stronger financial future.

Our Objectives

MNFEI provides free, high-quality financial education through:

• 1:1 sessions and classroom topics such as Budgeting, Managing Debt, Saving, and Investing
• Partnerships with trusted Minnesota-based nonprofits and community organizations
• Volunteer-Led Instruction, connecting skilled financial professionals to teach and guide adults

Our Impact

• 250+ participants served
• 40+ financial educator volunteers engaged
• 6 nonprofit partners
• 220+ community service hours by financial educators
• 440+ service hours provided by University students
• 12 nonprofit organizations on our “waitlist” for MNFEI classes
• 4 corporate sponsors
