As the only queer-focused foundation serving the upper Midwest region of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Wisconsin, PFund Foundation builds community and provides resources for LGBTQ+ individuals through grants and scholarships, developing leaders, and inspiring giving.
Scholarships are given to LGBTQ students age 17 and above in degree, certificate, GED, or apprenticeship programs. Since 1987, PFund scholarships have supported over 400 queer students in the region with more than $1 million of funds. This year, PFund Foundation distributed $75,000 in funds; 2021 PFund Scholars identify as 100% GLTBQ+, 51% as people of color, and 63% as transgender, gender non-conforming, or nonbinary.
Thanks to the generous support of our donors, we are able to continue the legacy of generosity and mutual aid within the queer and allied communities. The ongoing pandemic has disrupted many students' lives. Our community of the estimated 50,000 - 100,000 enrolled LGBTQ+ students in the upper Midwest needs our help for queer students of all income levels to enroll in post-secondary education, build their careers, and pursue their dreams.
Today, we are asking you to give at whatever level you are able, in support of your queer neighbors, friends, colleagues and family. A generous donor has agreed to match—dollar for dollar—up to five thousand dollars for supporting the work of PFund Foundation and championing the next generation of LGBTQ students.
