Support LGBTQ+ scholarships for students 
in and from the upper-Midwest

As the only queer-focused community foundation serving Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and the First Nations therein, PFund Foundation builds equity with LGBTQ+ communities across the upper Midwest by providing grants and scholarships, developing leaders, and inspiring giving.

                          2023 PFund Scholar Demographics

Using a community-centric review process, PFund awards scholarships to queer students at all stages of their educations. Since 1987, PFund scholarships have supported over 400 queer students in the region with more than $1 million of funds.

In 2023, PFund Foundation awarded a record $132,000 to fifty LGBTQ+ students from across its five-state service area. 2023 PFund Scholars identify as 100% LGBTQ+, 45% as people of color, and 53% identify as transgender or gender-expansive. Despite awarding a record amount of funds in 2023, demand for PFund scholarships vastly outmatched available funds and PFund was only able to support roughly 20% of applicants with scholarship funds.

Today, we are asking you to give—at whatever level you are able—to support and champion the next generation of queer students and leaders. A generous donor has agreed to a dollar-for-dollar match up to $5,000 for Give to the Max Day donations supporting the work of PFund Foundation.
