Welcome to Give to the Max 2025.

This is a great fundraising opportunity for all non-profits in Minnesota.  While many groups have goals well into the 6 and 7 figures,  our goal is much more humble.  We would love to raise $2000 in November.

We are focusing on helping Tilly recover!

Tilly is a darling Australian Cattle Dog puppy who was recently surrendered after the breeder sold the rest of her siblings to a pet store.   Tilly was unable to be sold as she was “damaged” when her siblings tore off half her ear.   Tilly has been doing fantastic in her foster home and was days away from being adopted. Unfortunately, during a meet and greet, Tilly was dropped by an adult from standing height and severely fractured her right front foot. She has three complete fractures of her metatarsal and one partial fracture.  (See pics below!) Because these bones are so small, and the breaks are so close to her growth plates, she cannot have surgery to pin the bones. This means that she will be in a cast, with weekly cast changes, for the next 6 to 12 weeks. This has also delayed her spay and her ability to be adopted. Tilly‘s bill at Southview Animal Hospital on 10/31 was $825.  Each additional appointment will be between $100 and $400 depending on if sedation or x-rays are needed.   This is a very long recovery and unexpected huge expense for our small rescue.

$1000 can spay/neuter 3 dogs!

$2000 can provide heartworm treatment for a dog.

$1500 can provide a dog with advanced dental disease the chance to live a pain free life after dental surgery.

Thank you for considering a donation to Paws First Rescue.  Our mission in rescue is as clear as our logo,  Spay, Neuter, Adopt.  All animals adopted from PFR are spayed or neutered before they are adopted!

PFR's love has always been the underdog.  The burn victims, broken bones, blind, deaf, neurological issues and more.  These extra special dogs often come with large vet bills.  A single case of advanced dental disease or heartworm disease alone can cost $1000 or more.

PFR does not use funds for a physical location such as an office or shelter.  All dogs live in volunteer foster homes until their forever homes are found.  Dogs are welcome to stay in foster care as long as needed.  Those stays can be as little as a week or as long as a year or more.
