Support Abortion Access and Reproductive Justice in Minnesota and Across the Midwest

Our Justice is fighting to protect and expand abortion access in Minnesota. Our mission is to ensure that all people and communities have the power and resources to make sexual and reproductive health decisions with self-determination. 

This Give to the Max Day we’re fundraising to bring much-needed improvements to the Abortion Assistance Fund. Your donation will help us meet the following goals so that we can make it possible for anyone to access abortion in Minnesota. To meet this moment we need to:

Upgrade our client intake and management system: since the fall of Roe, we’ve outgrown our system through which clients apply for funding, and where we track and measure our impact. Expanding this infrastructure is necessary to sustain and grow this vital service. 

Expand our staff: Our Justice is run by a small staff and a group of dedicated volunteers. This team supports over one thousand people seeking abortion assistance each year. By adding additional staff we can dedicate more time to supporting each client as they navigate restrictions and resources for abortion access. 

Increase our average pledge: We’re proud that we can offer a pledge of support to everyone in our service area, but we know that the funds we can offer aren’t enough to make abortion truly accessible. That’s why we’re working toward being able to meet each person with the full amount they are requesting.

More About Our Services and Programs:

Abortion Assistance Fund and Lodging: We provide direct financial assistance to people to help cover the cost of their abortion, as well as hotel, stays for people traveling for care. With over one thousand requests for abortion assistance this year, we’re working to improve and expand this service. 

Curbside Plan B and Safer Sex Kits: Since the start of our program in April 2020 we have distributed thousands of boxes of free Plan B and countless safer sex kits to individuals in the Twin Cities and through our partner organizations across the state. This fall we launched a text line making this service even more accessible. 

Expanding Access through the Courts: After four long years of fighting to remove Minnesota’s abortion restrictions, in July 2022, a district court sided with Our Justice and found most of the restrictions unconstitutional and unenforceable. Removing these restrictions goes a long way toward making abortion more accessible and affordable for our clients. While anti-choice activists and politicians may fight the decision, we will continue to work hard to ensure that these restrictions do not take effect again.  Laws struck down by our legal win include the 24-hour waiting period, medically inaccurate, state-mandated physician’s script, and two-parent notification for minors.
