Help us raise $3000 for our 2023-2024 Season!

113 needs to raise $3000 by December 31st in order to secure a $1 for $1 board match, which will in turn be matched by a corporate donor. Your $25 can become $75 of support for new music!

  • A season-long improv series, including improvised and open pieces selected from our annual Call for Scores by Andreja Andric, Santa Bušs, Alicia Castillo, Todd Harper, and Valsamara Ioanna.
  • Headlining concerts and lectures at the MN Made Festival at St. Cloud State University (January 25-26).
  • A concert featuring music by our own Michael Duffy and selections from our annual Call for Scores, including pieces by Max Friedman, Caroline Louise Miller, Kelley Sheehan, and Anna Louise Walton, (January 27).

Please support this ambitious programming with a donation today!

113, a Twin Cities-based collection of composers and performers of new music, curates concerts, seminars, and master classes throughout the United States and Europe.

Please consider giving to support experimental new music in the Twin Cities.  All funds go directly to support dedicated musicians, educational outreach, and the substantial cost of producing high-quality events.

Through ambitious programming, community building, educational outreach, and emphasis on extensive interaction between composers and performers that greatly exceeds the industry standard, 113 provides a platform for musicians pursuing bold, personalized artistic visions, and helps them to transmit those visions as directly and honestly as possible to a receptive audience, unfettered by university politics, market pressures, or established conventions.

Since its inception in 2012, 113 has presented over sixty world premieres and worked with composers and performers such as Richard Barrett, Anthony Cheung, Chaya Czernowin, James Dillon, Julio Estrada, Brian Ferneyhough, Michael Pisaro, Collect/Project, Duo Gelland, Ensemble Dal Niente, Fonema Consort, The Gregorian Singers, Marcelo Rilla, Bill Solomon, Strains New Music Ensemble, Milana Zaric and dozens of local musicians of the highest caliber.

Studio 113 also continues to create educational opportunities for Minneapolis Public School students through our summer instrument-building and electronic music course led by Benjamin Klein and a Minneapolis Public Schools residency by Alyssa Anderson, Justin Anthony Spenner, and the composers of 113, teaching contemporary art music, vocal performance, and music composition to choir students at Folwell School.
