About the District

Northfield Public Schools seeks to engage students of all backgrounds and interests in an education that challenges them to appropriately strive for their best. Every aspect of our educational curriculum — both inside and outside the classroom — is designed to provide opportunities for learners to develop their skills in order to become productive members of society.

With three elementary schools (Bridgewater Elementary, Greenvale Park Elementary and Sibley Elementary), a middle school (serving grades 6–8), a high school, an alternative high school (Area Learning Center), and several district-sponsored charter schools, the Northfield school district is well positioned to offer a high quality, well-rounded education that strives to meet the specific needs of each student and prepare its graduates for lifelong success.

In addition to being a leader in the number of National Merit Scholarship finalists each year, academic assessments show that students enrolled at Northfield Public Schools score above the state average in nearly all areas. While our academic excellence is clear, we also offer a breadth of top-notch co-curricular performance opportunities, believing that these programs provide our educators occasion to further impress upon students important skills such as leadership, teamwork, creativity, time management, self-expression, goal-setting and more.

Finally, as a trusted community partner, Northfield Public Schools is committed to educating persons of all ages. Our Community Services Division offers a full array of opportunities: from Early Childhood Family Education and recreation opportunities for learners of all ages to Adult Basic Education and Project ABLE for adults with disabilities.
