"Keeping Them Safe"

North Metro Animal Care and Control  is a 501(c)3 Animal Welfare Agency located in Andover, Minnesota.  We formed in May of 2017 to serve the needs of animals and citizens of our communities.  We provide professional municipal animal and impound services for Cities and Townships in the northern parts of the Twin Cities Metro Area and outlying areas of Anoka, Sherburne, and Chisago Counties.   The income we generate through our municipal contracts is reinvested into our community outreach programs that operate to the benefit of animals and people alike:

PETS OF DOMESTIC ABUSE BOARDING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM - Dover Kennel Animal and Impound Services offers low/no cost boarding for pets of victims of domestic abuse.  Every year hundreds of domestic abuse victims remain in dangerous situations for fear of leaving their beloved animal in the hands of their abuser.  This service gives victims the security of knowing their pets are cared for while they seek safety.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE - We provide assistance to elderly and low income individuals and families for emergency vet bills, food, pet supplies and other assistance that may be needed to keep animals in their homes where they belong.

PREVENTION OF CRUELTY -  We provide assistance and guidance to local law enforcement agencies and the public.  We have seized animals in Sherburne, Anoka, and Chisago counties and have provided initial investigative reports to authorities.  This has resulted in subsequent investigations and animal neglect/cruelty charges in three cases this past year.
