We need your support to reach our goal of $200,000

Our goal at the Norman County Historical Society is to preserve the rich history of the county. We do this by preserving, and recording the stories when possible, for the artifacts, photos, and other records that families have entrusted to our care. Some of these treasures are fragile and require a climate-controlled environment in order to be preserved for future generations. Our current climate-controlled storage area is a small loft, and a few file cabinets on the main floor of the museum. We are quickly running out of space to properly store materials such as fabric (we have some beautiful pieces of clothing dating back to the late 1800s), and paper (we have wonderful photos of families and historical events, obituaries, and other records going back to the late 1800s and so much more).

We are blessed with numerous volunteers who work diligently to catalog and properly store our artifacts however, about 90% of our volunteers are of retirement age and our storage loft requires carrying boxes and items up a steep flight of stairs to be accessed or stored. In addition to the need for actual storage space our volunteers need to feel safe while working at the museum.

Your generous support is needed!
