Founded in 2004, Nuevas Fronteras Spanish Immersion is a school program of choice that serves students and families in South Washington County District 833. Students continue immersion programming through Woodbury Middle School and Woodbury High School.
Our current program population consists of over 900 students. Nuevas Fronteras Spanish Immersion is located in St. Paul Park and Woodbury Middle and Woodbury High School are in Woodbury, Minnesota. Our students come from cities of Cottage Grove, Newport, St. Paul Park, Afton and Woodbury, and we have become a viable partner in the continually-growing immersion education network of the Twin Cities.
Students are immersed in Spanish as they learn in the curricular areas of reading, writing, math, science, social studies, art, and health. As with all programs in the South Washington County School district, our goal is to empower all our learners with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes for success. Our additional goal for our students is to communicate effectively in Spanish.
