New Lens Urban Mentoring Society is a non-profit that was founded in 2013, the cross-generational mentorship program serves black boys who attend the Saint Paul Public Schools. New Lens Urban Mentoring Society provides black males in the 8-12th grade with access to culturally congruent mentors, who engage their mentees through individual and group activities. New Lens Urban Mentoring Society provides our youth with access to some of the Twin Cities brightest minds. In addition to providing our youth with high-quality mentors, we utilize a multi-generational approach to mentoring providing our mentors with elder role models, networking opportunities, and elder wisdom.

"New Lens has helped raise my self-esteem. It has helped me develop the confidence to relate to young men in my peer group. Before New Lens, I would cut some class, and fall asleep. With my mentor Glo's help, I take my schooling more serious." -Sterling Roussel, Mentee
