The Nature Conservancy

A nonprofit organization

The Nature Conservancy is conserving the lands and waters on which all life depends.

Every acre we protect and every river mile we restore begins with you. Your support helps us take on the dual threats of climate change and biodiversity loss.

When you think of Minnesota, certain things come to mind...

Our beautiful lakes and rivers, our majestic forests and our open prairies.

The Nature Conservancy has a proven record of protecting and preserving land and water. For more than 65 years, we have applied a science-based approach to meet the most pressing conservation needs across Minnesota.

With partners and private landowners, we have protected more than 700,000 acres in Minnesota. We manage 52 nature preserves that are open to the public. We’ve planted 13 million trees in the Northwoods and restored nearly 150 wetlands in the Mississippi River headwaters.

This work couldn’t be more urgent. We have a brief window for action to prevent the worst effects of climate change. Your gift today will accelerate this work. Together we can safeguard nature for the next generation.

Your gift will help:

  • Protect and restore thousands of acres of prairie, rivers, lakes and wetlands for the people and wildlife that depend on them to thrive
  • Plant millions more trees, which provide cleaner water and air, habitat for wildlife, and improved public health
  • Develop and deploy science-backed solutions to the climate and biodiversity crises

The power to protect and restore nature—now and for the next generation—is in your hands. We can't do this without you. Thank you!
