Junior Composers Summer Programs empowers young musicians to explore their own creativity and grow through composition and performance.

Junior Composers Summer Programs is a two-week residential summer music composition camp for young musicians age 14-20 held yearly in July, and based at the University of Minnesota Twin-Cities School of Music. JCSP challenges talented music students to transform performance and creativity into a fuller expression of themselves and to put music theory and composition into practice with student-led music making in partnership with outstanding professional artists.

Our program educates today and tomorrow's young musicians and audiences, energizes young composers' talents and imaginations, stimulates entrepreneurship and collaboration, and serves as a model of effective support for the arts.  Students compose and rehearse new pieces during the weeks at camp and present their world premieres to an appreciative audience at the Salons on the final day of camp.
Junior Composers Summer Programs is a project of the North Central Region of the National Federation of Music Clubs.
