MUUSJA

We connect, organize and strengthen a network of 30+ Unitarian Universalist congregations in Minnesota and neighboring areas to build collective power and create a just and loving world.

Our small and dedicated staff (1.0 full-time equivalent) fosters stronger collaborations for justice among our congregations. Community organizing is all about bringing us together as a "bigger we" with a shared sense of purpose, and it is the foundation of social justice. 

We help you say yes to showing up in prophetic witness and direct action in solidarity with frontline communities and with multifaith coalitions. 

We increase your congregation's skills in having effective, accountable partnerships beyond your walls. 

We lift up our collective UU values through calls and emails to elected officials and decisions makers so that justice, equity and fairness become the bedrock of society.

We do this because we know that change is possible when we come together!

• Defending democracy - voter engagement and election protection with UU the Vote
• Racial justice & equity - end biased surveillance & state-sanctioned violence
• Gender justice & dignity for women & LGBTQIA+ peoples - end conversion therapy, support transgender kids, support UU presence at state-wide pride events, & reproductive justice
• Congregational connectors - a new program that fosters collaboration, communication, and creativity between congregations and MUUSJA and with one another
• Climate justice - in community with Honor the Earth and MNIPL (Minnesota Interfaith Power & Light) to protect the earth and water
