Mount Olivet Day Services Provides Enriching Experiences Through Intergenerational Day Care
Mount Olivet Day Services is a unique, intergenerational daycare program which serves children, ages 0-5 years, and adults, ages 55- 100+, with high quality care and services. Our programming is centered on enhancement of the physical, intellectual, mental and social well-being of each person served. Each day, around 55 children and 20 adults participate in our program.
Children enjoy learning, playing, and being physically active through indoor and outdoor play. For adult participants, activities include music participation, music performances, pet therapy, arts and crafts projects, nutritional meals, folk dancing, adaptive exercises, and more. Also, the adults pursue community field trips 6-7 times/ month.
Our goal is to continue looking for meaningful ways to help aging and frail adults remain independent and self-sufficient, and increase their well-being through diverse and social activities. We also continue to serve as teachers and leaders for young children receiving our care.
Regarding our needs, Mount Olivet Day Services hopes to hire a part-time yoga, and part-time Spanish teacher soon. Also, for children, toys, books, and special equipment for play are needed. For adults, we hope to raise funds for adult scholarships The monetary value of each scholarship is around $100. Your support for our organization and our needs will be greatly appreciated!
