MIRA’s mission is to empower Latino families, children and individuals in South Hennepin County by promoting their educational, economic and social development.   MIRA continues to be the only minority led, culturally and linguistically relevant agency serving the diverse population in Richfield. 

In response to the ever increasing number of diverse families and individuals arriving to our communities, we are actively seeking to expand our program offering to better respond to the emerging needs of Richfield residents.  

MIRA maintains collaborative partnerships with other agencies and institutions to maximize available resources, avoid service duplication, and to improve access to appropriate and timely services for our clients.  One example is the successful partnership between MIRA and Richfield Community Education since 2017.  This relationship has increased access to education, involvement and resources for Latinx individuals in the greater Hennepin County area navigating issues related to status, housing, domestic violence and more. 

Additional partners include:

• Health Care – Bloomington Public Health, Planned Parenthood, Portico HealthNet, University of Minnesota Extension Program

• Legal Assistance – Immigrant law center of MN, Community Action Partnership of Suburban Hennepin, Community Action Partnership of Suburban Hennepin

• Education & School Information – Richfield Public Schools, Metro South Adult Education, Hennepin County libraries

• Community Police Liaison Services – Hennepin County, Richfield police liaison 

Through these programs, approximately 80 households per month receive assistance provided through and at MIRA.
