Our mission at MN Pocket Pet Rescue is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome vulnerable pocket pets. Through dedicated care and unwavering compassion, we strive to provide each animal with a second chance at life in a safe and loving home.

Little Lives, Big Impact: Help MN Pocket Pet Rescue Save the Smallest Souls

Today, we’re on a mission to raise $8,000 in just 24 hours—a critical goal that ensures the pocket pets in our care will continue to receive the specialized care they desperately need. These animals have faced abandonment, neglect, and harsh conditions in the wild, and we’re determined to give each of them a safe, supportive, and loving future. But we can’t do it alone.

Every gift made on Give to the Max Day will be doubled, up to $1,000, thanks to the generosity of Mortgages with Tina, Joyments, Rosie's Cafe, and Christine Ellison. This means your donation can go twice as far in supporting the rescue.

At MN Pocket Pet Rescue, we believe every life matters — even the tiniest ones. We are 100% volunteer-run, foster-based, and entirely community supported.

This year, we responded to two of the hardest cases we’ve ever faced. In southern Minnesota, 18 rabbits were found dumped outside. We took in eight — almost all suffering from burrowed botfly larvae, infections, and trauma. Their care alone exceeded $9,000 in surgeries, vaccines, and treatment.

Before that, in February, we rescued Priah (formerly Pogo), a rat found outdoors in the freezing cold with severe frostbite. She had chewed off multiple toes to survive. After months of daily medication, bandaging, and surgery, she not only survived — she was adopted by her foster mom and is now living her best life.

These lives were saved because people like you stepped in. But more animals are waiting, and the cost of care continues to rise.

Every dollar helps provide emergency medical care, food, foster supplies, and hope for the pocket pets no one else is prepared to take in.

Your gift today brings them safety. Your gift today gives them a future.

About MN Pocket Pet Rescue

MN Pocket Pet Rescue is a non-profit, 100% volunteer-run, foster-based organization committed to the rescue and adoption of small animals in Minnesota. We rescue and find good homes for the following 11 species:  chinchillas, rats, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, mice, gerbils, hamsters, degus, sugar gliders, and hedgehogs.

Our rescue animals are cared for in private foster homes where they are properly housed and receive love and socialization. MN Pocket Pet Rescue provides all foster homes with the housing, food, bedding, and enrichment needed for their foster animal.

During a pet’s stay with a foster from our rescue, we cover the cost of all intake exams, treatment for any illnesses, and necessary surgical procedures (such as tumor removal surgeries). All procedures are completed through our trusted veterinary partners at Maplebrook Pet Care Center, Como Park Animal Hospital, and other local clinics.
