Miss Angie’s Place, A Safe Place to Gather and Grow
At Miss Angie’s Place, we believe in the transformative power of art, the healing embrace of nature, the importance of well-being, and the strength of community. We are committed to creating a nurturing space for both kids and adults of all ages to explore, grow, and connect through art, nature, and well-being classes and events.
Established in 2021 to serve Pine Island and southeastern Minnesota, we’re a young non-profit that relies on donor support for sustaining our mission. Please consider supporting us!
How We Serve Our Community
🌱 After School Academy // We provide a safe and nurturing space for 4th - 8th grade students, emphasizing mentorship and personal growth.
🌳Environmental Stewardship // Through programs like Naturescapes, Leave No Trace, Geocaching, and 1,000 Hours Outside, we get kids outdoors in immersive experiences that instill appreciation for nature and responsibility for our environment.
🎨Creativity Time // Our art programs spark creativity and self-expression, serving groups from toddlers with their caregivers, to home schoolers, to students of all ages.
🤝 Compassionate Outreach // Our students visit our local nursing home residents, sharing their time, compassion, and even their furry friends, our rabbits!
🤝 Community Engagement // We actively participate in and facilitate community events in Pine Island, Rochester, and surrounding areas.
Celebrating Our 2023 Milestones
🏢 Expanded Building Space // With the incredible support of generous donors and local businesses, we moved to a larger building to enhance existing programs and serve more community members.
🌟 Scholarships // We granted After School Academy scholarships to three students, ensuring they have the support they need for a successful 2023-24 school year.
☀️ Unforgettable Summer Camps // We successfully ran a full summer of children’s nature and art camps, creating memories and learning experiences that will last a lifetime.
🎭 Musical Debut // Miss Angie's Place ventured into the world of performing arts, producing and hosting our first-ever kid’s musical – a true testament to the power of creativity and community.
Our (BIG) Future Goals
♿ Handicap Accessibility // Making our new building fully handicap accessible.
🚽 Main Floor Bathroom // Adding a main floor bathroom to ensure convenience for all visitors.
🚐 Student Transportation // Purchasing a vehicle to provide safe and reliable transportation for our students.
🌿 Wetland Exploration // Leasing 40 acres of wetland outside of Pine Island for exciting nature exploration.
