The Minnesota Green Roofs Council works to educate about green roofs as a building strategy and what they can do for the environment.

Our mission is to increase the viability of green rooftops as a building strategy.  The MGRC seeks to develop local conditions in which:

·         Green roofs are a common building strategy in Minnesota.

·         Accurate, local information about green roofs is accessible to those who need it.

·         The general public is aware of the environmental issues that green roofs address.

·         Ten percent of new and replacement roofs are green roofs by the year 2020.

Our target audiences are local governments (cities, counties, watershed districts), state agencies (DNR, MPCA, MHFA, etc), private industry (architects, developers, contractors, manufacturers, landscape architects, etc), property owners, academia, and the media.

MGRC typically conducts two public outreach events each year (Living Green Expo in May, MN State Fair EcoExperience in August) and at least two professional education events each year. We welcome corporate sponsorships for all our events and our website.
