Advancing Effective Erosion Control and Stormwater Management

Your support will help us bring affordable erosion control and stormwater education across the state. Created in 1988, MECA strives to communicate erosion and sediment control techniques and practices, and encourage the use of those practices. Since stormwater management is such an integral part of erosion and sedimentation control, MECA also actively promotes new and innovative stormwater management practices. Mission Statement: The purpose of the Minnesota Erosion Control Association is to advance effective stormwater management and erosion control practices. Vision: To protect the quality of MinnesotaÕs natural resources, specifically soil and water, through educational training, conferences, financial coordination, and information sharing between diverse public and private groups. We are an organization comprised of contractors, suppliers, engineers and government agencies. Our goal is to promote effective erosion control and storm water management through:
  • An annual erosion control and stormwater management conference
  • Regional workshops and seminars
  • A semi-annual newsletter
  • Coordinating field demonstrations
  • Conducting research
    Overall Strategic Goals: In order to be an effective force in advancing stormwater management and erosion control practices, MECA will find the most effective means to:
  • Promote understanding between diverse groups.
  • Serve as a clearinghouse for erosion control and stormwater resources.
  • Provide unique technical trainings on innovative tools and techniques.
  • Highlight innovative practices and technologies.
  • Promote existing credentialing programs.
    We welcome the challenge to provide meaningful and fun educational activities for Minnesota and beyond.
