MNADC is a group working to integrate animal disaster planning, preparedness and response into the emergency operations plans of Minnesota.

MNADC members have participated in many disasters including; Hurricane Katrina, Fargo and Roseau flooding, and more recently the Japan Earthquake/Tsunami.  When we arrived in Fargo to assist in staffing and opening the animal shelter at the West Fargo Fairgrounds we thought we were only taking care of household pets, we ended up with 178 cats and dogs, 68 horses and a goat named "chili meat" (not named by us!).  We were very lucky to forge a partnership with the University in Fargo and their Vet Tech program to help us with the horses.  The Minnesota Horse Council is a member of MNADC also.  We have helped to create a cache of animal disaster equipment and volunteers to staff it while working with the Urban Area Security Initiative and the City of Minneapolis Emergency Management, we are the co-dispatching authority for that regional cache.  We need your help in donations to continue the work and especially the training for this initiative!
