Whether you start your days with a run or bike ride along miles of city trails, drop in for a rec center class and a conversation with neighbors, or unwind your day with a walk and talk with someone you love, you know there’s a place for everyone in our Minneapolis parks. Parks provide the common ground (field, course, or rink!) where we meet friends, make memories, and reconnect with nature.
At the Minneapolis Parks Foundation, we believe parks have the power to connect us, heal us, and make us whole. And this year, your contributions are helping to make our city’s world-class park system even more accessible, extending the promise of parks to every corner and community.
Over the last 20 years, the Minneapolis Parks Foundation has become the most trusted community voice for our parks, delivering more than $25 million in new investment and innovative thinking to create next generation destinations like Water Works Park and Pavilion and the Great Northern Greenway Overlook.
About the Minneapolis Parks Foundation
Since 2003, the Minneapolis Parks Foundation has been an independent donor-supported nonprofit dedicated to supporting our continually evolving park system. Today, we bring visionary leadership, philanthropic investment, and private sector expertise to encourage innovation and equity throughout the whole Minneapolis Park system.
Our Projects & Programs
The Minneapolis Parks Foundation creates and implements a range of forward-thinking projects and programs. From the groundbreaking work of the RiverFirst Initiative along the Mississippi River, the historic new North Commons Park development project, our Next Generation of Parks and Walk & Talk series, to our continued collaboration with community organizations, we are always exploring and expanding within the parks.
What's Coming Next for the Parks Foundation
Your donation today will go directly into supporting park improvements and community development across Minneapolis parks. We are excited to begin fundraising efforts for the newly approved North Commons Park improvement project, a once-in-a-generation investment to transform of one of the oldest, most vibrant and vital parks in the system into a thriving community hub.
