Minneapolis Parks Foundation

A nonprofit organization

Parks have the power to do extraordinary things. Show your support for this vital resource with a gift to the Minneapolis Parks Foundation today.

Vibrant parks bring generations together on common ground and help build the connections that sustain us through every phase of life. The parks we love and live in got their start nearly seven generations ago, and with support from people like you, we’re ensuring they thrive today and for years to come. Please join us with a gift today, thank you!

About the Minneapolis Parks Foundation

Since 2003, the Minneapolis Parks Foundation has been an independent nonprofit dedicated to supporting our continually evolving park system. Over the past 20 years, generous support from park lovers like you has helped the Minneapolis Parks Foundation secure more than $47 million for major park improvements and programs. Today, we combine community engagement, strategic leadership, and philanthropic investment to encourage innovation and equity throughout the whole Minneapolis Park system.

Our Projects & Programs

The Minneapolis Parks Foundation drives forward-thinking projects and programs that expand what’s possible in our parks. From transforming the Mississippi River through the RiverFirst Initiative and leading the historic renewal of North Commons Park, to growing the People for Parks Fund and elevating community-centered programming like our Next Generation of Parks and Walk & Talk series, we’re continually exploring and expanding within Minneapolis parks. Your donation today supports equitable park improvements, creative opportunities, and accessible park experiences for everyone across Minneapolis.

Transforming North Commons Park

Construction is officially underway at North Commons Park! This milestone marks the beginning of a multi-year transformation shaped by community vision and powered by public and private support. This once-in-a-generation investment will renovate the park’s aging fieldhouse with new programming spaces for youth, teens and seniors, a fitness space, a maker space, and a new concession space to serve the building and the waterpark, which will be wholly renovated. Your support of the Minneapolis Parks Foundation will help us complete this renovation, in partnership with the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board and community in North Minneapolis.

If you share our passion for parks, please make your donation today. Thank you!
