Mille Lacs Area Health Foundation Inc

For over 50 years, the Mille Lacs Health System (MLHS) has provided healthcare and emergency medical services for the entire Mille Lacs area in Central Minnesota. Nearly 27,000 people reside in this beautiful region that covers over 2,000 square miles. Include the fact that over 500,000 people visit this region each year, there is no doubt that the Mille Lacs Health System has had an immeasurable impact upon people who require medical care in the region; an impact that saves lives while providing the best care possible for those in need. The Mille Lacs Area Health Foundation (MLAHF) raises and provides support for the Mille Lacs Health Care System, local communities and the entire region of Mille Lacs in Central Minnesota. The MLAHF is one of the most successful and active foundations of its kind in rural Minnesota. Through our vision to look at the past, keep an eye on the present, while focusing on the future, the MLAHF is currently supporting the renovation and expansion project at MLHS. The much-needed renovation of the current facility is underway and the new addition of private patient rooms, kitchen/cafeteria, emergency dept., entrance and offices.

We also continue to work closely with local groups and organizations in Health Education – Partnerships with the Mille Lacs communities on health and community education related issues including Early Childhood Care and Education; Personal Health Care and Wellness; Transportation for Health-Related Needs; and support of college students in the Mille Lacs lake area seeking careers in the health care and medical field with scholarships. • Emergency Assistance – Providing emergency assistance for the patients who find themselves in a crisis.
