The Y is so much more than a gym. It's a cause, dedicated to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

The Y – Together We Make More Possible.

At the Y, strengthening community is our cause.  We  know when we work together, we move more individuals, families and communities forward.  Everyday, Y staff, volunteers, members, friends and community partners work side by side to tackle important issues impacting children, teens, families, and older adults in our community.

What if more people joined our cause? Imagine what our Iron Range communities would be like if:

• More kids had a safe place to go to learn, laugh and play
• More people had the guidance and tools to lead healthier, more balanced lives
• More of our neighbors could access the support needed to create a better future for themselves

Together, we can make this a reality for people of all ages in the Quad Cities area. Our community faces challenges, but we see possibilities rather than obstacles because of the committed Y friends and generous donors like you.

Funds raised on Give to the Max Day will enable the Y to:

• Nurture the potential of kids – A safe place after school.  Lessons about  teamwork and the chance to try new things.  Support from a caring role model.  The Y provides children meaningful opportunities to learn and grow.
• Foster a sense of community – In communities large and small, we’re there.  The Y is a unique gathering place where you’ll find toddlers alongside seniors,  families spending quality time together, and neighbors connecting.
• Provide opportunity for all – Helping adults and children reach their potential is at the heart of what we do.  As a leading nonprofit organization in our community, we teach life-changing skills and provide essential support in times of need.

In 2016, our Open Doors financial assistance program enabled 208 individuals  to participate in programs, membership, and activities at the Y valued at $44,380.  This is made possible by funds raised through events and fundraisers like Give to the Max Day.
