The Mesabi Symphony Orchestra is YOUR orchestra on the Iron Range. We are a community orchestra – we are dedicated to the communities of the Iron Range, and we draw our musicians from those same communities. You love music, and so do we! That’s why we bring great music from the professional orchestral repertoire to you right here, on the Range, where we all live and work.
As we travel through our 2023-2024 season of Music Is..., your Mesabi Symphony Orchestra is committed to being part of the thriving arts scene we enjoy here in Northeastern Minnesota. You will be able to hear us perform in Virginia, Hibbing, Ely, or Moose Lake. You will be thrilled to hear the stories of the many talented young high school and college-age artists participating in our young artist competition. Your children or grandchildren may be entertained and inspired by our visits to area elementary schools. If you play an instrument, or if you would like to learn, please contact us -- we have openings for musicians of all skill levels in our orchestra or our Chamber ensemble. MSO musicians are your friends and neighbors, your kids' teachers, the people you see in church or at the grocery store, all united by our love of music.
Like orchestras everywhere, MSO relies on the generosity of our supporters to make our programs possible. Your donation to Mesabi Symphony Orchestra will help us raise $10,000 so that we can continue presenting entertaining and meaningful orchestra performances to people of all ages.
MSO musicians gather together from all walks of life, community members with personal commitments to artistic excellence and lifelong learning.
“We have another exciting season planned this year for the MSO as we explore the range of emotions music has on everyone. As each concert is devoted to a specific theme that answers the question "Music is...", two highlights from the season are the return of our Christmas Pops concert and our season-closing collaboration with the Range of Voices for Brahms' German Requiem. We wouldn’t be able to provide the Iron Range with unique musical experiences without the support and dedication of the community, regional and extended. As always, I thank you for your continued support of this organization on behalf of the musicians and of the Board of Directors.”
- Benjamin Nilles – Conductor & Artistic Director
Can we count on you for financial support so that we can continue to perform orchestral music to the audiences of the Iron Range?
Our thanks to you for the past, a presence, and future!
