The MedCity Foundation was founded in March 2014 in the memory of Ralph Wright-Peterson who passed away from leukemia in 1995. His family was inspired by their own experience to work to help other patients and their families.  
            Our mission is to support patients in the Rochester, MN community battling blood cancers like leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma in our community. We provide financial assistance to help with general expenses as well as travel and lodging assistance. Many families are in our community for weeks, several months, and some are even here for years. There are also hundreds of local patients that are battling these cancers very day. We hope to take a small portion of the burden away by trying to assist with the financial strain of medical care.  In addition to the assistance packages we provide to patients, we also have a two-bedroom apartment in Broadway Plaza, which allows patients to stay, free of charge, in the heart of Rochester, including Skyway Access to Mayo Clinic.
     We rely completely on fundraising efforts and individual donors to fund our programs. We are also thankful for the partnerships we have formed with local businesses to provide discounted lodging and food for our patients. Donors will receive regular updates on these partnerships so you can see exactly how we are using the funds to go further in our community. Most of our funds are able to go twice as far because of the generous partnerships these businesses have provided.
