Meals From The Heart is based in Oak Park Heights, Minnesota. Led by a staff of two, and one hundred volunteers, we pack meals across the nation for our neighbors. Wherever we pack, we develop local distribution partners so that the meals help families in that area. Local service making a local impact.
Back in 2014, Meals From The Heart redesigned the global starvation meal packing to address local food insecurity by upgrading the recipes, the ingredients, the packaging, and the process.
All of these changes focused on respect for our neighbors that happen to shop at the local food shelf. At Meals From The Heart, we don’t care where moms and dads shop…the local grocer or the local food shelf. Folks should have access to a variety of high quality, great tasting, and nutritious meals. All meals are pleasantly packaged in full color stand-up pouches for proper display on the shelf.
For us, it’s all about respect.
We addressed the packing process as well, because our hosts and packing participants desire to make an impact in the lives of our neighbors. That is why we redesigned the packing process to increase the number of meals packed. Better process equals more meals. More meals equals less hunger in our neighborhoods. Our packing equipment is stainless steel, NSF or food grade and much of it is proprietary.
In response to the pandemic, Meals From The Heart designed a new program to provide greater access to food for families in a dignified manner. In 2020, we launched the Budget Stretcher FOOD BOX Program as our “Pandemic Pivot”. The Budget Stretcher FOOD BOX program provides folks the opportunity to purchase an intentional selection of quality up-to-date shelf stable products that is delivered to their door at a significant savings.
