We're not just a meal provider; we're part of an extensive ecosystem dedicated to breaking down barriers that prevent people from accessing the nourishment they need. We track food from its source and bring it to our guests at one of our 35+ FREE Community Meal Sites or through our Street Outreach program across Minnesota.

Our Food Rescue program continues to grow at astonishing rates. We project that we will rescue 12 million pounds of wholesome food this year. We say yes to everything and ensure it reaches those who need it.

Whether it's a family facing unexpected expenses like our guest Shareeka and her family of five whose water heater needed to be immediately replaced; or individuals like Tom who is a hardworking math teacher working overtime to pursue a graduate degree and struggling to cover both tuition and basic needs; or individuals like Susanne experiencing homelessness as a result of losing her job after 15 years with the company – a reliable meal provides consistency and a means for survival.

Over the years, our mission has evolved beyond our 35+ Community Meal Locations. We realized that other nonprofits need support, too, and by leveraging our Food Rescue infrastructure, we can enhance their impact on our community. The HUB program works with 40+ partners to reduce their operational food budget by offering food for only $0.19 per pound.

Our growth has been exponential. In the last year, our work has expanded into St. Cloud and scaled our operations of Food Rescue and the Commissary Kitchen into a second location.

Today, we face a unique paradox. The need is more significant than it's ever been, the barriers are higher, and the financial gap is wider than ever. The donor environment has changed, making it essential for us to find creative revenue sources and introduce Loaves & Fishes to new donors willing to help us bridge these gaps.
