Our Mission: The Little Canada Historical Society is dedicated to presenting exhibits and performing research that reveals Little Canada's history and influence today.

The Little Canada Historical Society was started in 1977 by a small group of local citizens interested in the history of our community and its people. We are an entirely volunteer organization. Our building houses a small museum and a library of history books, founding family history records and picture books, reference books, and some Native American information.  We have an ample genealogy center based on our early settler family names, and our genealogy computer records include approximately 752,000 individual names.   We also have obituary, birth and death records from both St. John’s Church and other surrounding communities, along with St. John’s Cemetery records.  While much of the historical information is on French-Canadian early settlers, our records also include information on early settlers with other ethnic backgrounds.  It is our goal to provide current residents of Little Canada and their children with a sense of place and for them to feel part of the history of Little Canada.
