About Us

We’re called “Life Connections” because if you connect with us, it helps you connect to the community….and by being connected, it can help you live a happier and healthier life, for you and your family.  More connections = more support.

Who We Are 

Life Connections is a parenting resource and pregnancy support center that is open to ANYONE with small children or who is pregnant under “less-than-ideal” circumstances.  Run by volunteers and donations, our office has been in Alexandria for over 45 years and helped over 6000 women, babies, & families. 

Our Philosophy       

Life Connections has a policy of not advocating or lobbying in politics and we are not affiliated with any one particular church.  We do believe that God doesn’t make mistakes, and that He wants us to be there for one another.  We hope to be His hands and feet and in that way we can hug you, help you, and walk beside you through your daily life.

We are a group of helpers that know that parenting and pregnancy can be scary when you aren’t ready, don’t have the money, or you don’t have enough help. 

We also know that if we want to reduce the challenges found by choosing to bring children into this world, then we must help you find comfort, security, and resources so that you know you are loved and not alone. 

General Information 

Life Connections provides a variety of services in-house and also refers clients to others in the community for many more specialized services.  We offer friendship, free pregnancy tests, love, hope, and support so that you can make a realistic plan for the future. With more info comes more peace.

We try to help with material goods, but we can only hand out what is donated to us; therefore, availability can vary from week to week.  Depending on both our funding and the age of your child, we can offer baby and maternity supplies such as clothing, shoes, outwear, diapers, bedding, cribs, car seats, bottles, formula, toys, breast pumps, monitors, and more.  Please call or stop in to ask about availability. If we can’t supply the items you need, we will work with you to either find possible alternate sources, or help you budget for the items through mentoring.

•   We will listen to you through one-on-one contact to provide personal attention.
•   We want you to know the many options and support available to you.

Life Connections is prepared to help you whether you are single or married regardless of age, race, gender, religion, ability, or financial situation…even if you are the grandparents, foster family, or adoptive family!                         

Although we don’t perform or refer for abortions, we will help you understand what you can expect from the abortion procedure. Gather your questions and make an appointment today with us to meet your Life Connections advocate, before scheduling an abortion.   If you should choose an abortion, we will not judge you or stop loving you, and we’re here to help you afterward as well.  You are important to us.

While we are not an adoption agency, we LOVE the adoption option and having birthmoms choose the parents for their child’s future. What a gift!  We can refer you to agencies in our area.
