Let's Plant Trees

A nonprofit organization

Let's Plant Trees is built on a straight-forward yet powerful concept: we can all combat climate change by planting more trees.  In conjunction with the various climate management strategies pursued by other organizations, we believe that tree planting is a sound and logical step towards absorbing more carbon from the atmosphere. The Arbor Day Foundation reports that a mature tree can absorb about 48 pounds of carbon dioxide annually, while releasing oxygen in return—that is the equivalent to the emissions from using 4 gallons of gas. It's clear; planting trees is good for all of us, and our future.

Our primary objective is to make tree seedlings available to homeowners and property owners for small-scale planting projects.  We also plan to assist other organizations with larger-scale reforestation efforts.  We are here to assist individuals and organizations by providing species information, sourcing tree seedlings, and providing planting instructions, advice, and volunteer support.  We recognize the need to increase our planting and reforestation efforts and believe that, with the right information and planting support, we can boost tree seedling success rates.  This is why we offer detailed, practical, and timely information on tree species that can thrive in a changing climate, and guidance on when and where to plant them. Our goal is straightforward: let's plant more trees!

Rooted in Cook County, Minnesota, along the North Shore of Lake Superior, we look forward to expanding our geographical reach as we grow our operation in the years to come.  As a new non-profit, this Fall 2023 fundraising season is our "soft launch" where we will raise funds to buy seedlings in bulk for Spring 2024 planting. Contributions made at this juncture are pivotal in enabling us to secure additional seedlings at more favorable pricing through larger quantity purchases.  We will then provide the tree seedlings to our supporters, local residents, and our volunteer planting crew in Cook County.  Beyond Spring 2024, we plan to significantly expand our capacity to source and distribute live tree seedlings, assist other organizations with collaborative reforestation efforts, collect data on success rates by species and location, and continue studying the latest developments in forestry and climate change.

We are excited about the journey ahead and invite you to join us in making a positive impact on our planet, one tree at a time!
