Since 1979, Lee Carlson Center has been a beacon of hope for those coping with emotional and behavioral issues. We are a trauma responsive and integrative provider of mental health services focused on the needs of communities across Anoka County and Minnesota’s north metro impacting the lives of 7,000+ individuals, families, and caregivers each year.
2020 was the year of leaving no current or prospective client behind. With community and individual support, we could navigate the challenges brought on by the pandemic and ensure both staff and clients were supported.
Over the last year, Lee Carlson Center’s Intensive Treatment in Foster Care program doubled in size and then doubled again due to children in foster care and their foster families searching for intensive, frequent support throughout the week. Lee Carlson Center’s Domestic Violence programs added after- care support for program graduates and a new after-care service began to extend the impact of change offering these adults a chance to chart a path to their future.
Support helped our clinics establish reliable telehealth connections with clients and we retrofit treatment spaces so clients could access their therapist when they lacked access to technology.
Our Bridgeview drop-in center added a significant meal on wheels component helping to ensure that the adults we serve with severe persistent mental health concerns could receive food throughout the week, leaving one less worry for them. On behalf of the staff, clients and the communities Lee Carlson Center serves, thank you for your generous support.
Of the 7,000+ served annually, 70% of clients are uninsured or underinsured. Because of community support, clients in need pay no fees for many of the services we provide. Generous individual support allows Lee Carlson Center to respond quickly and effectively to emerging mental health needs in our community. You help make hope, healing and health happen.
