Kalpulli Tlaloctecuhtli is the first queer-led Aztec danza group in the Midwest, a community rooted in ceremony, culture, healing, and resistance. We dance to heal, to honor our ancestors, and to reclaim Indigenous spaces where everyone — including our queer and trans relatives — is seen, celebrated, and empowered.

Every step, every drumbeat, and every ceremony keeps our traditions alive while creating spaces of belonging and pride for the next generation. But we can’t do this alone.

What Your Donation Supports

Path of Quetzalcoatl – Youth Cultural Exchange & Leadership

Your contribution helps fund our sacred youth pathway — a program that creates opportunities for young people to:

  • Travel to danza ceremonies and gatherings in other states and in México

  • Connect with relatives, elders, and traditional teachers across the danza community

  • Share knowledge, songs, stories, and teachings with other youth

  • Learn directly from cultural leaders and bring those teachings back to Minnesota

  • Strengthen identity, discipline, spiritual grounding, and leadership

  • Build a sense of belonging that carries into their families, schools, and community

This is more than travel — it is a pathway of healing, cultural continuity, and Indigenous resilience.

Traditional Ceremonies We Hold Every Year

Your donation ensures we can continue hosting our major annual ceremonies:

  • Huitzilopochtli Winter Ceremony

  • Mexica New Year Ceremony

These gatherings bring families together in prayer, danza, storytelling, and community-building, keeping thousands of years of tradition alive here in the Midwest.

   Traditional Arts & Cultural Workshops

Your support also makes it possible for us to continue providing hands-on cultural education, including:

  • Weekly Danza Classes
  • Hand-drum making (Panhuehuetl)
  • Regalia creation and sewing
  • Ayoyote ankle rattles
  • Ayacaxitl / Sonaja making
  • Beadwork and jewelry design
  • Feather artwork and sacred adornment
  • Additional arts that preserve ancestral knowledge

These workshops teach patience, discipline, creativity, and spiritual grounding — and they help each dancer carry tradition with dignity and respect.

  Healing Spaces & Ancestral Medicine

Your contribution also supports healing gatherings where community members learn:

  • Medicinal plant knowledge

  • How to prepare traditional remedies

  • Techniques for grounding, cleansing, and spiritual wellness

  • The ancestral practices that strengthen emotional, mental, and spiritual health

These healing spaces are essential — especially for LGBTQ+ relatives, youth, and families seeking culturally rooted support.

Why Your Gift Matters!

Your donation directly supports our dancers, cultural youth pathways, regalia making, community ceremonies, and intergenerational education. Together, we are:

  • Protecting ancestral knowledge

  • Uplifting LGBTQ+ Indigenous leadership

  • Reconnecting youth to tradition and identity

  • Building spaces of healing, dignity, and community power

  • Ensuring our culture continues with strength and authenticity

Please consider making a contribution today — your support helps our fire keep burning strong.
