Just The Pill began with a simple mission: To expand access to sexual and reproductive healthcare in rural Minnesota.
We are committed to reaching people who cannot currently access healthcare, and abortion in particular. We know that people who need abortions often face many obstacles. We recognize the importance of understanding and reducing obstacles presented by language, geographic location and poverty.
In Minnesota, 97% of counties don't have an abortion provider. It is common for people to have to travel 2-3 hours for abortion care.
In July 2020, a federal court ordered that restrictions on obtaining medication abortion (mifepristone) be eased so that patients can now receive the abortion pill without having to visit a clinic in person. Just The Pill is taking advantage of the tremendous opportunity that this decision presents. In September, we began offering telehealth services, allowing patients to receive medication abortion by mail.
The future: A mobile clinic
Our vision is to bring abortion care, birth control and STI treatment to rural Minnesota using a mobile clinic. In addition, with planned routes near Minnesota's western border, we anticipate serving residents of North and South Dakota, where abortion restrictions are severe.
We believe everyone is deserving of respectful, accessible care!
Donations from generous people like you will help to expand abortion care in underserved communities.
