Have you ever looked into the eyes of a child and wondered what that child could become? Every day, great leaders of tomorrow are lost to the streets of today. The JK Movement is doing something about that. We believe that, with encouragement, training and a listening ear, our youth can find their vision - their voice and begin the journey to become the best of who they are.

Our mission is to "empower and inspire effective change in the minds, bodies, and spirits of young people." The youth of the St. Paul metro area get involved with JKM for the enjoyment of the program, but they stay for the meaningful experiences.

The kids, that your donations help us support, talk about the changes that they’ve made as a result of being in the program. They learn how to take care of their bodies inside and out through sports training and healthy living activities. We even teach them how to prepare healthy meals and snacks.

Kids who get tossed aside by society come to JKM and find mentors who can help them see the best of what they have to offer the world, who care, who see their potential. The kids see their latent leadership skills form and rise to the surface as they participate in activities proven by research to be effective, proven by kids to be fun.

Middle and high school aged youth practice living out the values-driven skills they acquire through the program. They experience the transformation of going from gossips to graduates, hot-heads to heroes and under-achievers to overcomers.The "me first" mentality turns into a community minded mindset as the kids learn to identify, design and implement community service projects for the communities in which they live.

Our mentors and those who work with the program embody the qualities we nurture in the youth we serve. We help the kids see and develop a sense of hope in their ability to positively direct their own futures by adopting and living out values that will create proactive change.

JKM provides programming in four areas:

1.    Life Skills and Career Development

2.      Healthy Living 

3.      Sports Team Leadership Training 

4.     The Movement/Group Mentoring 

Established in 2011, The JK Movement is the brainchild of founder and visionary, Johnny Allen, Jr. Born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota, Johnny graduated from Highland Park High School and went on to receive a B.A. in Business from the University of St. Thomas. With his tenacity and personal dedication and commitment to improving the lives of youth, he has brought JKM successfully from its first year of programming to where it is today.
