Jenny's Light will use all funds raised to help spread awareness of all perinatal mood disorders including postpartum depression.

Dear Supporter,

On December 19th, 2007, my sister Jenny shot and killed her six-week old son, Graham, and then herself. How could this happen? Jenny was such a kind and gentle person. In the days following this tragedy, we learned that she had been suffering from a perinatal mood disorder called postpartum psychosis.

As you can imagine, the months following our devastating losses were filled with anger, sorrow, confusion and finally a resolve to raise awareness of all perinatal mood disorders so that we could help save lives and keep other families from going through this needless nightmare.

As we commemorate the eight-year anniversary of our founding, we are happy to share that our work of increasing awareness of perinatal mood disorders has been able to prevent more families from suffering the pain and heartache that our ?family has since losing Jenny and Graham. We know first-hand the devastation that these 100 percent treatable mental health complications can create. My sister Jenny, in whose honor we named the organization, had not exhibited any outward signs of illness prior to the day of the tragedy.

With your help, Jenny’s Light will continue to make a difference. Your contribution today will ensure that tomorrow we have the resources to save and improve the lives of still more families and the mommies out there who are too ashamed or scared to speak up. I know that my sister’s light will continue to illuminate others as a result of your support.

Please do not hesitate to contact me by phone at 952-994-1804 or email with any questions or for more information regarding the work we do with hospitals, clinics and communities. Thank you for your continued support.
