The primary purpose of Iowa Public Radio, Inc. is to support and promote the welfare and growth of the network of public radio stations in the State of Iowa, including, but not limited to, public radio stations currently licensed to the State University of Iowa, the Iowa State University of Science and Technology, and the University of Northern Iowa, each of which is exempted from federal income taxation under Section 115(1) of the Code.

Programs

Support public radio broadcasting in Iowa: In late 2004, the Board of Regents State of Iowa merged the three public radio stations licensed to Iowa State University, the University of Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa. Together, the stations form one of the largest public radio organizations in the country with the ability to take public radio service in the state to a new level of excellence.;Enhance Iowa's sense of community by providing forum for diverse radio programming: The transition from three independent stations to one statewide organization has been guided by a vision of the future created in partnership with the communities we serve.
