International Cello Institute

The International Cello Institute, (ICI) is a uniquely personalized and comprehensive three-week summer program located in Minnesota that draws young cellists to study music from all over the world. Our students work with some of the world's most acclaimed pedagogues and soloists from globally recognized musical and educational institutions. Our goal is to support, encourage and develop artistic growth and potential in every student that attends our institute. 

The goal of this campaign is to raise funds for a matching grant of $12,000. Every donation can really make a difference in the lives of the young cellists who attend our program. Some tangible ways your donation will make a difference are: travel support for students and faculty (every cellist has to buy an extra flight ticket for their instrument), alleviating tuition expenses by growing ICI's scholarship fund, covering administrative expenses to support programming, advertising expenses, lessening the charges of facility costs, and faculty salaries. Our curriculum includes innovative approaches to interpretation, the refinement of cello fundamentals and advice about practice techniques. We inspire our students to become confident, well-rounded, and communicative musicians. 

Over the years, we have developed various initiatives including: iConnect, our program for younger developing cellists, C'ELLE - our important initiative that specifically supports young women cellists by providing opportunities and scholarships for travel and advancement, our sold-out CelloICI Recital Series is very popular in the greater Twin Cities community as it provides important programming and entertainment throughout the month of July.
