We build economic opportunity.

Our programs mobilize hundreds of volunteers from faith and spiritual communities, who help us provide shelter for families, free food and clothing, tutoring and job coaching, as well as free legal assistance. We also bring together volunteers, civic leaders, and interfaith communities to build connections and understanding that inform effective, responsible, and systemic action. We provide faith communities with accessible and meaningful opportunities to add vitality to their congregations and bring their faith to life through our programs below:

Project Home: Provides emergency shelter and rapid exit case management services for area families facing homelessness. Stabilizing services include basic daily needs (meals, laundry), case management (assistance finding housing, employment, daycare, and school), financial education (budgeting, saving, credit/debt recovery), and on-site mental health therapy.

Department of Indian Work: Partners with American Indian families to revitalize culture, education, and wellness. We provide a safe, Indigenous space to empower American Indians towards self-determination, while respecting cultural and spiritual diversity. The community support services we provide are:

Emergency Services: food shelf, clothing closet, and referrals to employment, transportation, education, and other community resources.

Health Services: diabetes prevention education for families and youth, plus food demonstrations and community healthy food/diabetes consultation; connections to health and other resources.

American Indian Youth Enrichment: after-school and summer programs focused on Indigenous cultural, wellness, and educational activities.

Economic Mobility Hub: resources to build stability and economic strength for American Indians in the Twin Cities East Metro area.

Opportunity Saint Paul: Harnessing the transformative work of volunteers to both relieve the effects of poverty and address its root causes through high-impact tutoring and job coaching and community learning events.

Workforce Development: Offering free training in English and Spanish for in-demand healthcare careers. In partnership with the MN Department of Human Services and other training and employment partners, Interfaith Action is offering a free training program in Spanish and English for two highly needed front-line healthcare jobs: personal care attendants (PCAs) and certified nursing assistants (CNAs).

Any contribution you make makes it possible for Interfaith Action of Greater Saint Paul to serve people individually while working systemically to build economic mobility. Every gift—large or small—makes a difference to the families and communities we serve.
