Built in 1871 The Hormel Historic Home strives to preserve the Home and History of the George A. and Lillian Hormel Family.  Our mission is to preserve the home and to honor the Hormel family legacy of Hospitality, Music/Arts, Education/Autism, and service to the community.

The Hormel Historic Home is a historic house museum and an independent non-profit organization.  It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

This home represents different things: history, family, architecture, community support, and industry.  Whatever your interest in the Home is, we continue to work hard to preserve it for you and future generations.

We are open year-round Monday-Friday for self-guided tours as well as any day for pre-scheduled guided group tours (which can be reserved by calling our office).

We offer programming in the areas of hospitality, music/art, and education/autism. The Hormel Historic Home offers three camps for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as year round respite programming and parent/caregiver presentations.

The Hormel Historic Home an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization funded by memberships, donations, tours and event rentals and is not owned or funded by the city, county, company or historical society. All our funding is privately raised.  And we are grateful for your donation which helps us keep our doors open and the lights turned on!
