$10,000 Goal
Food security is foundational to academic learning. There is an urgent and growing need for food and other essential resources among the most vulnerable families in Hopkins. Hopkins Education Foundation and ICA Food Shelf, with the support of Hopkins Public Schools, are partnering for the #HopkinsStrong Relief Fund to help our community - and we need you to help make that happen.
With your donation, ICA can provide emergency food bags along with critical housing and utilities support to help families remain stable during this time of heightened stress and uncertainty in our community.
Funds raised through the #HopkinsStrong campaign will go directly to support the ICA's response efforts and to fund emergency food distribution, emergency housing, and utilities support.
$75 supports one bag of groceries
GOAL: Help us raise $250,000 to cover food, rent, and utilities for Hopkins families to meet their ongoing needs.
ICA is a trusted partner of Hopkins Public Schools who provide resources to support students enrolled in Hopkins School District. ICA is responding to the surge in needs for food and housing support, especially for Hopkins District neighbors who cannot safely leave their homes.
100% of your tax-deductible gift to the #HopkinsStrong Relief Fund will go directly to the ICA Food Shelf to immediately benefit children enrolled in Hopkins Public Schools District 270 and their families who have an urgent need for support. District 270 includes families in Hopkins, Minnetonka, Edina, Eden Prairie, Golden Valley, Plymouth, St. Louis Park, and more.
HOW ICA SUPPORTS OUR FAMILIES
ICA’s primary response for food support is their drop-in emergency food bags, complete with meat, dairy, bread, eggs, and shelf-stable items. ICA emergency bags average out to 50 pounds of food/bag.
Hopkins School District neighbors who need food support can stop by the food shelf (11588 K-Tel Dr., Minnetonka) during any of ICA’s open hours to pick up an emergency bag. The only information ICA' needs is the number of people in each household (children, seniors, or other).
Those needing an emergency bag can come in themselves, send a friend or other community member to pick up food and supplies for them, or work with our school partners to receive the support they need. ICA volunteers also make regular grocery deliveries to families as part of their normal operations.

HEF is a foundation funded and run by those who want the best for the Hopkins School District. We partner with the district to provide grants that directly fund educational opportunities proposed by our teachers and students. We believe that by nurturing curiosity, diverse thinking, and a love of learning within our schools, we create better outcomes for our community as a whole.
We amplify the brilliance of our teachers and students.
We offer a unique way to back new ideas within our district. By working directly with educators and staff, we’re able to be nimble in support of new approaches and set in motion exciting new learning opportunities that engage, enhance, and energize students and staff.
