We Kickstart Learning Opportunities!

Hopkins Education Foundation (HEF) has awarded more than $4 million in grants and special appeals to Hopkins Public Schools since 1995.

HEF is a foundation funded and run by those who want the best for the Hopkins School District. We partner with the district to provide grants that directly fund educational opportunities proposed by our teachers and students. We believe that by nurturing curiosity, diverse thinking, and a love of learning within our schools, we create better outcomes for our community as a whole.

Through educator Spark Grants and student club Awesome Fund grants, we empower students and teachers to pursue their curiosity and love of learning. Spark Grant for real-world skills focus in middle school advisorySpark Grants are our educator grants awarded to Hopkins teachers and staff to fund classroom tools and school projects. We have funded 663 Spark Grants, providing things like: 

• Band instruments for lending

• Author visits, 

• Little free libraries

• Voice-output switches for non-verbal students

• A mobile ‘zine studio

• Career exploration tools for Transition Plus students

• Coding robots

• Sensory tools and large motor equipment

• Playground equipment
