HopeKids provides ongoing events and activities for families who have a child with a life-threatening medical condition.

HopeKids' mission is to provide ongoing events, activities, and a powerful, unique support community for families who have a child with cancer or another life-threatening medical condition. We surround these remarkable children and their families with the message that hope is a powerful medicine.

HopeKids gives families something to look forward to rather than dwelling on the emotional toll of the child's diagnosis. Whether it's movies, sporting events, theater shows, or concerts, these activities provide the entire family with a chance to bond during a time that threatens to tear them apart. At HopeKids events, families find a supportive community of other families like theirs who understand what they are going through. Here, kids who are bald, use a wheelchair, or rely on an oxygen tank or feeding tube aren't stared at, but feel like they belong. And with the financial burden these families face, all our events are offered free of charge.

HopeKids Minnesota currently serves nearly 1,700 families and offers more than 500 events for families across the Twin Cities. Some events are small, providing opportunities for families whose children share similar medical conditions to meet, share resources, and build friendships. Others are big (200 - 1,500 people), high-profile events that build anticipation for the future. Together, these events provide a powerful, unique support community and offer a much-needed distraction from the daily challenges and uncertainties our families face.
